Naughty 'N Nice Gift Wrapping: {Almost} Wordless Wednesday

My husband hates shopping for Christmas gifts and I hate wrapping them. No, I despise wrapping presents. I'm a recycled-gift bag kind of girl. So when it came time to get the deed done this year I tried to put a smile on my face and make them good.

We have a family tradition to buy each other gifts from the dollar store each year (including gifts to/from Lil' J and Snoop), so that ups the quantity of presents to wrap. When I was done I couldn't help but notice the disparity in my efforts.

Here's how my wrapping started.
These are presents for my husband. Some weren't square-shaped so I grabbed boxes to put them in and wrapped them neatly. It's not perfect by any means but nice for me.

After about five gifts, the cutting, folding and taping became too much and I resorted to tearing, crumbling and sticking.

And this is how they ended.

To my credit I figured it would be easier for Snoop and Lil' J to open this way.

Merry Christmas!

Pimp Your Ultrasound! MoD Sponsor #27

Short story: I.. The self-proclaimed "Baby Makin' Machine," found making a baby isn't as easy as I had hoped. So to take my mind off baby makin' I'm spending a month raising money to help March of Dimes babies. Read the long story about how this fundraiser got started here!
Read my NEW (10/14) latest TTC update here.

I figured it was time to change things up a little bit around here. Tired of hearing from mommies? Of course not! But why not hear from a guy for a change?

Andy is first time Daddy-to-be. An actor by trade, and developer of Pimp My Ultrasound. He and his wife been best friends since they were kids. Now they've been married for 11 years.

Since he travels alot and auditions alot he hadn't really "planned" on having kids but they were blessed out of the blue 5 months ago and things have been going great.

When they found out, his artsy side came out and he had an idea that has now come full circle.

Like anyone, he wanted to announce and show off their ultrasound in a unique way so he had an iphone app built called "Pimp My Ultrasound"."Its been such a fun project and I can't believe it is going to be on the app store this month!!!" Andy said a month ago (it's in stores now!). "I of course built it originally for my wife and other pregnant women in mind but husbands and daddy's have really taken to the pics I've 'Pimped' so far so that's been a fun surprise."This mommas boy was actually how they told everyone "Its A Boy" on twitter and facebook. Looking for a fun way to tell the good news to family and friends? Want to make pimpin pictures out of your friend's ultrasounds? (I'm planning on doing one for my BFF!) Learn more about this cool application by visiting their website, or by following @PimpMyUltrasnd on Twitter!

The Push Present

Have you heard about these? I hadn't, but now that I know about it you'd better believe I'm signing up for this trick.

We were talking about our wedding rings at work when one of my friend's said one of her friends got a brand new diamond ring as a "push present." 'WT eff is that?' was my thought, so I asked. And like it sounds, it's a present expected from the expectant father. A thank-you gift your husband will give to you while "pushing" through labor... A motivational gift I guess you can say, and it's given to a new mother either before, during or right after delivering her new baby. Sounds sweet right?

Apparently this has been going on for a long time. In England it's tradition for men to give their wives a diamond ring. In India they give their new mothers gold jewelry. I guess here in the US it's just starting to pick up and it's most spreading by word of mouth. So ladies are you with me? To all of my pregnant friends: Get your husbands to do this for you and by the time I have a child I'll have enough evidence to convince mine to do the same. Have any of you heard of this before? Or practiced this brilliant custom?

You'd best believe I already told my husband about this. He may not think I'm serious about this right now but I'm expecting one of these when I have a baby. No, I'm not pregnant yet, so I have a while to convince him, decide what I want and save for it.

I'm not positive yet, but I'm thinking something like this would be just right:
